Last weekend at the 2015 World Championships, Xande Ribeiro won his 7th world title beating former world champion Lucas Leite in the finals. In the quarter finals he had a great match with former medalist Dmitrius Souza and then beat a tough Jackson Souza in the semi finals by taking his back. In his final match he was able to sweep Lucas twice to win on points. If you are interested in learning from Xande Ribeiro's only black belt in the state of Colorado, request more information on the side of this page.
The full results compared to my predictions:
Rooster: Bruno had a tough match with Joao Miyao as predicted and ended up winning a super close match.
Light Feather: Without Gui Mendes defending his title, it was all Paulo Miyao's match for the taking which he did

Feather: This also went as expected with Rafa Mendes beating Cobrinha in the finals though Rafa dominated the match with a sweep and back take.
Light: This went as expected, but I forgot that Langhi and Lepri were on the same team so they closed out the finals without a match.
Middle: This is where my predictions fell apart a bit. Otavio had a tough quarter final match with Jaime Canuto from GFT and then lost in the semi's to Vitor Oliveira. Calasans beat Vitor Estima in the semis which setup a match between Calasans against Oliveira which Calasans won match that was locked in the 50/50 position.
Middle Heavy: This was all Leandro Lo, but it was nice to see Tarsis back in the finals and leglock expert Renato Cardosa had a great showing to take 3rd.
Heavy: This is where my instructor Xande Ribeiro won it all for his 7th title. He faced Lucas Leite in the finals. I think the big upset here was Tim Spriggs beating Keenan in the quarter finals by 2 pts.
Super Heavy: Bernardo Faria was a monster this weekend.
Ultra: With Bucheca hurt I thought Trans or Evangelista might take it, but Gabriel Lucas won it all.
Open: With Buchecha out, Faria came on strong again. Leandro Lo had a great showing taking third, but Faria is a tough matchup for him.
